CHILD Protection !
Child PROTECTION !!!
This is clear….
Protect the CHILD!!!
No but, if or maybe… 😡

Two Children were removed from their parents and placed in safety. The mother had already previously had FIVE other Children removed, at different times.
In court the mother requests assistance to be taken to a hospital to be sterilized and the Social Worker is instructed accordingly by the magistrate… Never actioned!
Children “Six & Seven” are placed in Foster care.

***A few years later the mother again births Child “Eight”.
This is emotionally devastating to Children “Six & Seven” who understand that Mommy & Daddy will take them back as soon as Mommy & Daddy are ready… and they believe this whole heartedly…
# Major disappointment and further rejection;
Mommy & Daddy are not ready for us but they are ready for a new baby?
Bear in mind that during this time the Children are subjected to irregular visits at the convenience and choice of the parents, protecting the Parent’s rights, not the Children’s.

***Visits become more irregular and eventually stop. The mother gives birth to Child “Nine”.
Parent’s go missing for two years.
# Further disappointment and more rejection;
Children “Six & seven” are in emotional turmoil… Bouncing between flaring Anger and deep Worry.

***Today, a call is received…
Parents have been in jail for over a year, Children “Eight & Nine” were placed in protection in separate places and Social workers were "unaware" of previously removed Children???
UNAWARE???... Children “Six & Seven” Same Parents, same town, same Department of Social Welfare, same Child Protection…

Father is convicted and sentenced for 30 years.
Mother is awaiting trial... social worker’s are demanding that the Children visit in jail regularly to build a bond for possible future reunification… It is the Mother’s right!!!???
What about the Children’s rights? 🤬

Good afternoon friends and family. FOSTER CARE PARENTS...we need you! If this interests you, I will list some very basic requirements below for your reference. Once you have read and understand, you are more than welcome to email me on [email protected] and we can then chat further.

We can list some basic requirements for you. You are also welcome to check with your local Department of Social Development in your area for the requirements. Please note we need Foster Care parents for children of all ages and not just babies. We don’t deal with adoptions just to be clear.

Here are some of the basic requirements:
• You must be 18 and older and in good health.
• You need to be employed OR have a steady income.
• You will need to apply for Police clearance at your nearest Police Station, and this will be for you and everyone 18 and older who reside in the same house.
• You must have adequate space for a child.
• Be able to care for the child holistically and not be "Social Grant" dependent.
• The Foster Care term placement is 2 years but can be extended case dependent and if deemed so by the Courts.
• You must be Cape Town based for us to refer you to our Social Workers.
• The designated social worker will do the necessary home visit and screening, and they will decide if you are fit or not.

We also encourage you to join our volunteers program first.
