The Amavuso Project
THE AMAVUSO PROJECT is presented by the Sibikwa Arts Centre (South Africa) together with Nhimbe Trust (Zimbabwe).
The AMAVUSO project is a collaborative theatre performance which aims to portray authentic and diverse perspectives on the ‘blesser’ phenomenon as an increasingly accepted popular culture.
The project will be created and performed by an all-female creative team from South Africa and Zimbabwe. It will be integrated by video footage, and other digital elements.
Amavuso aims to give audiences a sense and feel of the interactions between ‘blessers’ and ‘blessees’; exploring the pervasiveness and impact of social media.
