This isn't the first time Jesus has saved me, healed me and I'm counting on it not being the last.

When I was diagnosed with Hormone Positive breast cancer, once the shock and the fear was manageable, I started a deep dive into researching how to heal. Part of that healing was facing and dealing with deep trauma.

In my research this ☝️ came up. Look, I don't know if trauma causes cancer, but i do know that storing trauma, rage, unresolved issues, makes you sick. Physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally.

I've survived trauma, abuse, addiction and although given the space to work through and heal from so much, I still had stuff to work through, still have.

But Grace.

Another interesting thing I've learned - every one of the women who share their stories with me after being diagnosed, have faced some level of deep trauma in their lives. πŸ€”

One thing i remember clearly through my cancer journey, even when fear paralyzed me (which it did, often) I saw God's hand in every tiny detail.

In Dec 2024 I found my lump, I was terrified, I've never felt that kind of fear. I was a single mom, working for myself, I had just signed up for medical aid so they wouldn't cover anything. It was overwhelming, but I couldn't skip a beat, (single mom, working for myself).

My best friend arrived home soon after I discovered my lump, she came from New Zealand for a holiday, she's my rock, often my sanity, and she knows me better than I know myself. She took control. She made the plans and the appointments and kept me calm.

She made sure us and our boys had a holiday to remember that December.

Because I went through state (phenomenal) I was only diagnosed with Hormone Positive Breast Cancer in July 2025.

By that time my best had left of course, but in walked the man of my dreams to face that diagnosis with me. Steady, solid, sure.

God's hand was in all of it and I hope, through this page I can space this story out from the start ❀️

I had cancer here, in this photo.

I looked at this photo the other day and it dawned on me. I was sunkissed, happy, thriving business, happy boy. Sure my hair was falling out in clumps, and my weight was steadily declining - but I worked 8 hours in the pool, 6 days a week. I was exhausted, ate too little, never slept enough and raising my son alone.

"I was burnt out"

And then i found the lump.

I had just had a shower after a hot day in the pool, I was sunburnt and lathered lotion over my body, over my b***s. And there it was - a bump. I went over it a dozen more times hoping I was imagining it. Terror hit me like a ton of bricks and I landed on my knees outside of the shower begging God for this to be a mistake.

My favorite b**b - the right one (🀭) had a 2.3 cm lump which would 6 months later be diagnosed as hormone positive breast cancer.
