Bruno went missing a week ago from Sheffield Beach Estate and his family is desperately trying to find him. 💔

If you have seen Bruno, or have any information about where he may be, please contact the number on the poster.

🙏 Please share this post far and wide — hopefully someone has seen him and we can help get Bruno safely back home.

🐾 A VERY HEAVY HEART | TEMPORARY CLOSURE 🐾

With broken hearts, we need to let you know that Sables Animal Rescue PBO is temporarily closing to new cases and intake.

We have reached a point where our outstanding veterinary and rescue bills have become too much, and without funding we simply cannot continue taking in more animals responsibly.

This is not giving up. ❤️

We are going to focus on our existing cases and work towards settling our outstanding bills, so that we can hopefully get Sables back on its feet and open our doors again.

If you would like to support us during this difficult time, donations towards our outstanding rescue costs would be deeply appreciated.

Thank you to everyone who has stood beside Sables, supported our animals and believed in the work we do.

We are truly, deeply grateful. 🐾❤️

Since last posting there have been five new confirmed cases of rabies in KZN.
Unfortunately, this is likely not a true reflection on the number of actual animal cases when we consider that there have been six confirmed cases of rabies related human fatalities in KZN this year.
If you are concerned that you have been in contact with a rabid animal wash any wounds or skin abrasions with soap under running water for twenty minutes, before seeking medical attention without delay.
Please help to spread the word.

💔 Please help Talky 💔

Talky is one of the dogs under our care in Hlanganani. Yesterday we were told he was very sick — vomiting, not eating, extremely lethargic and having lost so much weight.

We rushed him to Aloe Vet, where he saw our amazing vet, Dr Jeremy Lamb, who immediately put him on a drip.

We honestly hate asking, but Sables is deep in the red and without donations, we simply cannot keep up with the vet bills.

If anyone can spare even R20, R50, or whatever you can afford, it would mean so much to us. We know everyone is struggling, and we are truly grateful for every single donation, no matter the amount. ❤️

Sometimes, a little kindness can make an enormous difference. ❤️

Our hearts are so incredibly grateful.

We have been trying desperately to get food, blankets and basic shelter for the animals in the rural informal settlement we are currently working in. Support has been very limited, and honestly, it has been incredibly difficult.

Then Tereza Purple Vd Berg stepped in. She quietly went out and managed to get blankets and food donated for the animals. Tereza, thank you for seeing the need and doing something about it. Your kindness means more than you know.

Then Samantha Bergset started a kennel drive. Through her efforts and the generosity of those who supported it, enough funds were raised for six kennels. Six dogs who had absolutely no shelter from the weather will now have somewhere safe and dry to sleep.

A huge thank you to Avinash, who made the kennels and personally delivered them. Thank you for giving your time, your skill and your heart to help these animals.

And to our Sables team member Dierk Van Helt, thank you for coming out so quickly to help me in the area and to get the kennels where they needed to go. Having someone there to help makes such a difference.

And to every single person who donated, shared, contributed or simply cared enough to help, thank you. ❤️

Six dogs who will be a little warmer, a little safer and a little more protected from the rain, wind and cold.

That may sound like a small thing to some people, but to these six dogs, it means everything.

We are incredibly grateful to Tereza, Sam, Avinash, Dierk and everyone who played a part in making this possible.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us help them. 🐾❤️
