So the “Powder Puff” ladies of A Heart to Help have an important announcement to make …. We have a “plus 1” to add to our board and we could not be more excited …. Drum roll…. 💙 WELCOMING EDUARD LOUW TO THE A HEART TO HELP FOUNDATION BOARD 💙

It is with great pleasure that we welcome Eduard Louw as a voting member of our Board of Directors, with responsibility for managing projects.

As the Founder and CEO of Restore Africa Foundation, Eduard has already worked closely with A Heart to Help, sharing our commitment to restoring dignity, creating opportunities and supporting women and children affected by Intimate Partner Violence.

Throughout our work together, we have come to know his compassion, determination and willingness to roll up his sleeves. He brings people together, turns ideas into action and keeps the lives behind each project at the heart of his work.

When we invited Eduard to join our board, he thoughtfully considered his place within a team of women. Our response was clear: good men have an important role to play in this mission.

We believe his presence will encourage more men to stand alongside women, speak out against abuse and take an active part in building safer families and communities.

In his role overseeing projects, Eduard will help us develop and deliver initiatives that support safety, practical skills, independence and lasting hope.

Eduard, thank you for accepting our invitation and placing your time, experience and heart behind our mission. We value the relationship we have already built and look forward to all we will accomplish together.

A Heart To Help stands with women. And we stand with the good men who stand beside them.

We know there are good men out there.

Men who protect.
Men who respect.
Men who teach their sons differently.
Men who step in when a woman is in danger.
Men who believe that real strength is about protecting, not controlling.

We see you. And we thank you.

But while we acknowledge the good, we cannot stay silent about the women who are living in fear, being abused, assaulted and murdered.

This isn’t about hating men.

It’s about protecting women.

And for A Heart To Help, protecting women means doing more than talking about the problem.

It means doing something.

We want to help women and their children who are trying to escape abusive situations and rebuild their lives.

But we cannot do it alone.

WE NEED YOU.

If you can donate R50, R100, R500 or whatever you can afford, your contribution can help provide a woman and her children with practical support when they need it most.

If you can’t donate money, there are other ways to help.

Donate food.
Donate clothing.
Donate toiletries.
Offer transport.
Offer professional services.
Offer employment opportunities.
Donate furniture or household essentials.
Volunteer your time and skills.

And please — share this post.

You never know who might see it and decide to become part of the solution.

Because behind every statistic is a woman with a name, a family, dreams and a life that matters.

And sometimes, the difference between a woman staying trapped and being able to start again is simply having someone willing to help.

Don’t just be angry.

Don’t just share the outrage.

Turn your outrage into action.

Help us create a safe place where women and their children can begin again.

Help us show a woman that she is not alone.

NINE BEAUTIFUL LIVES. NINE WOMEN WHO SHOULD STILL BE HERE.

Nine women murdered. Nine families left with questions, grief and a lifetime of what ifs.

And while we mourn them, thousands of women across South Africa are still living in fear — being threatened, beaten, controlled, stalked, sexually abused and broken down by men who are supposed to love them, protect them and stand beside them.

Let’s be brutally honest:

A woman should NEVER have to be more afraid of the man in her home than the stranger in the street.

And we cannot keep telling women to be careful, don’t go out alone, change your routine, watch who you trust and make sure someone knows where you are.

How about we start telling men: DON’T HURT WOMEN.

And to the men who stand by while another man abuses a woman — your silence matters too.

To the men who know their friend beats his partner, threatens her or controls her and say nothing — you are part of the silence.

To the men who think jealousy is love, control is protection and violence is punishment — it isn’t.

And to every woman who is currently living behind a closed door, pretending everything is okay because she is terrified of what will happen if she speaks:

We see you.
We believe you.
You are not alone.
You deserve to live.

This Friday, WEAR BLACK.

Not because black is enough.
Not because one day of solidarity will fix this.

Wear black because we are angry.

Angry that women are still being murdered.
Angry that women are still being abused.
Angry that children are growing up watching it happen.
Angry that too many women are still not believed until it is too late.

Nine candles. Nine lives. Nine stories that must never be forgotten.

Their voices may be gone.

OURS MUST BE LOUDER.

WEAR BLACK. SPEAK UP. STAND UP. PROTECT WOMEN. END THE SILENCE.

Women’s lives matter. And enough is enough.
