Vacancy : Skills facilitator for Victim Empowerment Centre
Key Performance Indicators:
Plan, organize and direct a wide range of training activities within the skills development programme. Overseeing of each project from the beginning to the end and ensure that the project or assignment is completed within the timeframe.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the recommended interventions, report on progress and assist in identifying further/amended interventions to address the identified needs.
• Attendance of weekly supervision with Social Work Manager (supervisor).
• Assist with tasks as delegated by Supervisor.
• Assess and establish appropriate skills development according to client’s needs.
• Facilitate structured trainings.
• Through your creativity, clients will be awarded with the in-house certificates of attendance.
• Possess a good communication and interpersonal skills which will incapacitate you to build and maintain strong relationships with other stakeholders.
• Assist clients with compiling their CVs and employment search.
• Verify the legitimacy of companies before accompanying clients to their job interviews.
• Verify service providers’ accreditations with relevant registration bodies.
• Transport clients and support them while receiving services from other service providers for their safety.
• Market the skills development products to the community with an aim of generating funds for skills programme.
• Report to supervisor on the work challenges and progress encountered.
• Possess an interpreter’s role when necessary.
• Consistently reflect the values and principles contained in the Bill of Rights to assist with professional conduct.
Keep abreast with new developments within the field of work. This would, inter alia, entail the following:
• Read publications in order to ensure that knowledge is taken of new developments.
• Attend meetings, workshops and any other relevant developmental activities to take knowledge of the latest developments in the relevant field.
• Discuss self-development plans and key performance indicators with the supervisor.
• Ensure that a resource book/list of services and organisations is updated and accessible when required.
Perform administrative support functions in support of social worker as required of the job.
• Keep an appropriate and efficient filing system.
• Create a work schedule for the programme and adhere to the plan.
• Take minutes for all the meetings that are attended and submit to the supervisor.
• To submit a daily planner and productivity report on a daily basis to supervisor.
• Submit reports (board reports, six monthly and annual reports) to supervisor within allocated time frame.
• Writing of process notes after every interaction with clients and overall summary after of groups sessions and community work.
• Submission of community awareness year planner to the supervisor.
Group and community work
• Discuss the plans and arrangements regarding the group activities with the supervisor.
• Facilitate educational groups designed to meet the needs of the clients.
• Conduct workshops and awareness campaigns marketing the skills programme within the community of Greater Alberton and surrounding areas.
• To facilitate educational groups with shelter clients empowering them with information that will lead to self-reliance.
• Submit proposals for approval prior to conducting any campaigns/workshops.
Team work
• In order to achieve our organisational plans and goals you will have to engage in all departmental programs (HIV, VEP, HBC and Fundraising).
• You are expected to assist where necessary in other areas within the organisation from time to time.
Requirements:
Valid drivers license - will be tested
Valid certificates to show experience in teaching and training people in economically appropriate skills
