PROSHIELD SECURITY
MULTI-DISCIPLINARY SUCCESS REPORT
Date: 12 August 2026
Incident: Armed Business Robbery & ATM / Safe Removal
Area: Sinoville, Pretoria
On 12 August 2026, a valued ProShield Security client, a fuelling station in Sinoville, activated their panic alarm following an armed robbery in progress.
ProShield Armed Response was immediately dispatched to the premises. Upon arrival, our response members were met with active gunfire from the suspects. Due to the serious and volatile nature of the incident, ProShield’s Tactical Unit was activated and additional support was requested.
What followed was a coordinated multi-disciplinary response involving members from ProShield Security, SAPS, Lapua Strike Force, GAC Risk Solutions, TrackerSA and other operational role players.
During the response, information was received regarding suspect vehicles believed to be involved in the robbery. Members identified one of the vehicles and a high-speed pursuit ensued. Suspects fired shots from the vehicle during the pursuit, with security members returning fire. The suspect vehicle subsequently crashed on the R566 towards Rosslyn.
One suspect was detained at the scene, while three additional suspects fled from the vehicle on foot. Information obtained from the detained suspect assisted the operational team in identifying a suspected safehouse linked to the robbery.
A coordinated tactical operation was subsequently launched at the identified property. Upon arrival, members were again met with heavy gunfire from multiple suspects armed with rifles and pistols.
The multi-disciplinary team proceeded with the operation, resulting in the arrest of three additional suspects and the recovery of two vehicles believed to have been used in the commission of the crime.
Inside the property, members recovered the ATM and drop safe taken during the robbery. Both were found undamaged and had not been cut open. An R5 rifle, ammunition and an additional magazine were also recovered, together with clothing, gloves, balaclavas, false registration plates and an undisclosed amount of cash.
A total of four suspects were arrested.
