Looking back to World Humanitarian Day 2025… and ahead to tomorrow

Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB)’s commitment to humanitarian action is not new. On World Humanitarian Day 2025, CRB, in partnership with United Nations UN OCHA Yemen -Marib and the Humanitarian Media Center (HMC), مركز الإعلام الإنساني HMC organized a special event to recognize humanitarian workers and highlight the importance of humanitarian action in Yemen.The event was an opportunity to reflect on the people behind humanitarian response—their commitment, courage, and continued efforts to reach communities in need.

As we approach World Humanitarian Day 2026, the message remains as important as ever: humanitarian workers must be protected, humanitarian principles must be upheld, and affected communities must have safe and meaningful access to assistance and protection.

Tomorrow, we will join the global humanitarian community in recognizing the people who make humanitarian action possible. We will also share a reflection on what World Humanitarian Day means for those working on the front lines of the humanitarian response in Yemen.

التزام منتدى الإغاثة والبناء (CRB) بالعمل الإنساني حاضرًا على الدوام. ففي اليوم العالمي للعمل الإنساني 2025، نظّم المنتدى، بالشراكة مع مكتب الأمم المتحدة لتنسيق الشؤون الإنسانية (OCHA) في مأرب ومركز الإعلام الإنساني (HMC)، فعالية خاصة لتكريم العاملين في المجال الإنساني وتسليط الضوء على أهمية العمل الإنساني في اليمن.

مثّلت الفعالية فرصة للتوقف أمام الأشخاص الذين يقفون خلف الاستجابة الإنسانية؛ التزامهم وشجاعتهم وجهودهم المتواصلة للوصول إلى المجتمعات المحتاجة.

ومع اقتراب اليوم العالمي للعمل الإنساني 2026، تظل الرسالة أكثر أهمية من أي وقت مضى: يجب حماية العاملين في المجال الإنساني، واحترام المبادئ الإنسانية، وضمان وصول المجتمعات المتضررة بشكل آمن وفاعل إلى المساعدات وخدمات الحماية.

وغدًا، سننضم إلى المجتمع الإنساني العالمي للاحتفاء بالأشخاص الذين يجعلون العمل الإنساني ممكنًا. كما سنشارك وقفة تأملية حول ما يعنيه اليوم العالمي للعمل الإنساني للعاملين في الخطوط الأمامية للاستجابة الإنسانية في اليمن.

Today, Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) joins communities around the world in recognizing the vital role of young people in shaping a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable future.

International Youth Day is more than a day of celebration. It is an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of sustained investment in young people—through quality education, decent work, skills development, entrepreneurship, innovation, and meaningful civic and community participation.

Young people are not only the leaders of tomorrow; they are partners in building a better today.

Globally, around 260 million young people aged 15–24 are not in employment, education, or training (NEET). At the same time, the demographic future of the world is increasingly a youth future: by 2050, an estimated 69% of the world’s youth will live in low- and lower-middle-income countries.

For Yemen, where young people make up more than half of the population, these realities are particularly significant. The challenges facing young Yemenis extend beyond access to education and employment; they also include limited opportunities for meaningful participation, leadership, and contribution to decisions that directly affect their lives and communities.

Youth should not be viewed only as beneficiaries of development policies and humanitarian interventions. They must be recognized as partners in shaping those policies, informing decisions, and developing solutions for their communities.

Meaningful collaboration between young people and communities is essential to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). When young people are given space to participate, their ideas, perspectives, skills, and understanding of local needs can help identify practical solutions to the challenges facing their communities.

This International Youth Day, let us listen to young people, create space for their voices, and work alongside them to turn aspirations into action.

بمناسبة اليوم الدولي للشباب، ينضم منتدى الإغاثة والبناء (CRB) اليوم إلى المجتمعات حول العالم في التأكيد على الدور الحيوي الذي يضطلع به الشباب في بناء مستقبل أكثر شمولًا وقدرةً على الصمود واستدامةً.

واليوم الدولي للشباب ليس مجرد مناسبة للاحتفال، بل فرصة لتجديد التأكيد على أهمية الاستثمار المستدام في الشباب، من خلال توفير التعليم الجيد، والعمل اللائق، وتنمية المهارات، وريادة الأعمال، والابتكار، وتعزيز المشاركة الفاعلة في الحياة المدنية والمجتمعية.

فالشباب ليسوا قادة المستقبل فحسب، بل شركاء في بناء حاضر أفضل.

وعلى الصعيد العالمي، يوجد نحو 260 مليون شاب وشابة تتراوح أعمارهم بين 15 و24 عامًا خارج دائرة العمل أو التعليم أو التدريب. وفي الوقت نفسه، يتجه المستقبل الديموغرافي للعالم بصورة متزايدة نحو أن يكون مستقبلًا شبابيًا؛ إذ يُقدَّر أن 69% من شباب العالم سيعيشون بحلول عام 2050 في البلدان منخفضة الدخل والبلدان ذات الدخل المتوسط الأدنى.

وفي اليمن، حيث يشكل الشباب أكثر من نصف السكان، تكتسب هذه الحقائق أهمية خاصة. فالتحديات التي يواجهها الشباب اليمني لا تقتصر على محدودية الوصول إلى التعليم وفرص العمل، بل تشمل أيضًا محدودية الفرص المتاحة للمشاركة الفاعلة، والقيادة، والمساهمة في القرارات التي تؤثر بصورة مباشرة في حياتهم ومجتمعاتهم.

ولا ينبغي النظر إلى الشباب بوصفهم مجرد مستفيدين من سياسات التنمية والتدخلات الإنسانية، بل يجب الاعتراف بهم شركاءً فاعلين في صياغة هذه السياسات، والمساهمة في صنع القرار، وتطوير الحلول لمجتمعاتهم.

ويمثل التعاون الهادف بين الشباب والمجتمعات عنصرًا أساسيًا في دفع عجلة التقدم نحو تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة (SDGs). فعندما تُتاح للشباب مساحة حقيقية للمشاركة، يمكن لأفكارهم ووجهات نظرهم ومهاراتهم وفهمهم لاحتياجات مجتمعاتهم المحلية أن تسهم في تحديد حلول عملية للتحديات التي تواجه تلك المجتمعات.

وفي اليوم الدولي للشباب، لنجعل من الاستماع إلى الشباب أولوية، ونوفر لهم المساحة للتعبير عن أصواتهم، ونعمل إلى جانبهم لتحويل تطلعاتهم إلى أفعال وإنجازات.

Access to safe shelter is the first step toward restoring stability.

Since the beginning of the year, the Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) has supported 9 families by providing shelter, along with distributing non-food items and household furniture, helping families meet their basic needs and live in safer and more dignified conditions.

We continue working with our partners to reach the most vulnerable groups and strengthen the humanitarian response that addresses the basic needs of displaced people and affected families.

منذ بداية العام، دعم منتدى الإغاثة والبناء CRB،

Today, 70 persons with disabilities have become more mobile and more independent in their daily lives after receiving electric wheelchairs through a project implemented by the Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) with the generous support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).

The Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) implemented a project to distribute 70 electric wheelchairs to persons with disabilities, with the generous support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), under the patronage of the Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib Governorate, Major General Sultan bin Ali Al-Aradah.

During the inauguration, the Undersecretary of Marib Governorate, Dr. Abdrabuh Muftah, praised the humanitarian support provided by TİKA, commending the efforts of the Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) in implementing humanitarian projects that address the needs of the community.

For his part, the TİKA Yemen Program Coordinator, Mr. Zübeyir Yakar Yılmaz, expressed his hope that these wheelchairs would help make the lives of the beneficiaries easier and enable them to move more freely. He also extended his thanks to all the partners whose contributions helped make this project a success.

The Chairman of the Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB), Dr. Kamal Al-Qadami, affirmed that the project reflects the Coalition's commitment to implementing qualitative interventions that contribute to empowering persons with disabilities and improving their quality of life. He expressed his gratitude to the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) for its generous support, and to the local authority in Marib Governorate for its cooperation in ensuring the success of the project, affirming that the Coalition will continue expanding its humanitarian partnerships to implement more initiatives that meet the needs of the most vulnerable groups and enhance their dignity.

Marib.. Local Authority Discusses with TİKA Yemen Program Coordinator Enhancing Humanitarian Interventions and Supporting Persons with Disabilities

The Deputy Governor of Marib, Dr. Abdrabuh Miftah, met today, Sunday, with the Yemen Program Coordinator at the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), Mr. Zubair Yikar Yilmaz, to discuss ways to strengthen humanitarian cooperation and expand development and relief interventions in the governorate, contributing to addressing the growing humanitarian needs.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the humanitarian situation in Yemen in general, and in Marib Governorate in particular, in addition to discussing the key humanitarian projects implemented by the Turkish agency across various Yemeni governorates and their impact in alleviating the suffering of the most vulnerable groups.

The Deputy Governor of Marib emphasized the importance of expanding humanitarian interventions in the governorate, noting that the health and education sectors are among the top humanitarian priorities requiring additional support, alongside other essential sectors. He also expressed his aspiration for the implementation of more high-quality projects that meet the needs of both residents and internally displaced persons (IDPs).

The visit came within the framework of preparations for the implementation of a project to distribute 70 electric wheelchairs to persons with disabilities in Marib Governorate. The project will be implemented by the Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) with funding from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), in a step aimed at improving the quality of life of the beneficiaries and enhancing their mobility and independence.

For his part, the Yemen Program Coordinator at TİKA, Mr. Zubair Yikar Yilmaz, expressed the agency's commitment to continuing its humanitarian support in Yemen, affirming its aspiration to implement as many humanitarian interventions and projects as possible during the coming period, in accordance with the available resources and capacities, and in a manner that contributes to addressing the most urgent humanitarian needs.

At a time when the rising cost of daily living has become a heavy burden for thousands of Yemeni families, the Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) continues its humanitarian efforts by implementing a project to distribute 1,000 food baskets across several governorates in Yemen, with the generous support of the Turkish Haidar Association.

Behind every food basket is a family striving to get through another day with dignity, children waiting for a safe meal, and parents searching for a glimmer of hope amid harsh humanitarian conditions.
