ECAC is pleased to introduce you to its new Arts Administrator, Casey Galligan of Wilmington! Says Casey: “ I have spent more than a decade contributing to the region’s creative landscape, including eight years on the board and four on the executive committee of the Upper Jay Art Center. As a stage performer and small scale artisan maker, I’m committed to fostering a vibrant, collaborative arts environment within Essex County and its surrounding communities. I’m thrilled to bring that energy to ECAC and help both established an emerging artists to thrive.”

A great collab of our two favorite organizations in Saranac Lake…

Looking forward to being a part of the Stevenson Cottage event and continuing our partnership from this summer on Nov. 13th!

From the Cottage:

In the 1920s, events at the Stevenson Cottage (home of the author of Treasure Island and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) were considered major highlights of the Adirondack calendar.

Our upcoming event Robert Louis Stevenson's 175th Birthday Party will also mark 100 years since the Stevenson Society of America purchased the cottage. It promises to be OUR LARGEST AND MOST LIVELY EVENT IN A CENTURY. Come enjoy a night of storytelling, live music, and Scottish cheer.

Celebrate with us and learn about our efforts to revitalize and preserve a world treasure in the Adirondacks. Mark your calendars, spread the word, and don't miss it! 6:30pm at the Library, 11/13

Featuring Historic Saranac Lake, Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH), Adirondack Center for Writing, Pendragon Theatre, Free Library Saranac Lake, and Adirondack Life Magazine

A delightful holiday tradition! Don’t miss it!

The Sounds of the Season — A Christmas Carol Radio Play

Presented by the Depot Theatre Academy and Whallonsburg Grange Hall

A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play | Sunday, December 21, 2025 | Refreshments 2 PM | Performance 3 PM
Whallonsburg Grange Hall, Essex NY

The Depot Theatre Academy and Whallonsburg Grange Hall invite audiences to gather for a heart-warming Adirondack holiday tradition—the 4th Annual presentation of A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play by Philip Grecian, based on the timeless novel by Charles Dickens.

Directed by Ginene Mason and Amy Fitts, this beloved adaptation captures all the spirit, humor, and redemption of Dickens’s classic tale. The performance blends live radio-style storytelling, Foley sound effects, and a talented cast of Academy alumni and local artists to conjure the world of Ebenezer Scrooge and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future.

Admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted to benefit area food pantries.

Refreshments begin at 2 PM, followed by the performance at 3 PM.

📍 Whallonsburg Grange Hall | 1610 NYS Route 22, Essex (corner of Whallons Bay Rd.)
