Keeping Our Ngwa Heritage Alive in the Diaspora
Culture is our identity. Tradition is our heritage. Together, they are the priceless legacy we must preserve and pass on to the next generation.
As parents living in the diaspora, we have a sacred responsibility to ensure that our children know who they are, where they come from, and the rich values of the Ngwa people. If we fail to teach them our language, customs, respect for elders, history, and cultural values, we risk losing an important part of our identity.
This is one of the reasons His Highness, Oparaukwu Ikenna James, was coronated—to champion the preservation and promotion of Ngwa culture and traditions among our people, especially those living abroad. Through the vision and activities of Oha Ngwa Manchester, he continues to serve this noble cause with dedication, bringing our community together, inspiring our youth, and ensuring that our heritage remains alive for generations to come.
Let us all play our part by teaching our children to be proud of their Ngwa roots. Our culture is our strength, and our traditions are the bridge that connects our past, present, and future.
