"Peaceful Coexistence begins when we embrace diversity, build bridges of understanding, and recognize that our differences make us stronger!”

In order to foster a sense of unity and belonging amongst the refugee and host community, BOSCO Vikaspuri centre organized a Peaceful Co-existence Program that served as an opportunity to promote social integration and cultural exchange between refugees and locals by encouraging activities that facilitate interaction and understanding.

From cultural exchange activity to a fun quiz, vibrant performances by Refugee and Indian youths to diya painting competition were some of the highlights of the day. We are very grateful for the presence of several government officials who were part of the program, including, Sh. Dilip Pandey (Hon. Chief Whip, Delhi Legislative Assembly and MLA Timarpur, Delhi).

Bridging cultures and building bonds stronger! A fun and exciting session with the resilient Afghan and Chin elderly refugee participants was organised by the BOSCO Community, Youth and Groups team, Vikaspuri. Together, through fun games, music and activities they explored coping strategies for stress and practiced light exercises to strengthen both body and mind. A beautiful reminder that no matter where we come from, wellness and inner peace are always a necessity.

Refugee youths from all 12 BOSCO Youth Clubs step up as guardians of tomorrow, learning to protect the most vulnerable among us. The Community Youth and Groups Team organized the Youth Leaders' Training on the theme of the month, "Child Protection". The youth leaders actively took part in the discussion, each coming up with various insights. They also deliberated on various hypothetical crisis situations and their response to it, which they discussed in groups and presented brilliantly which assured the correct dissemination of information to their respective communities throughout the month.

Encouraging women to break the silence, speak up and report about Gender Based Violence (GBV). The Community Youth and Groups Team Vikaspuri organised Women's Club awareness sessions along with some light-hearted activities with the Chin and Afghan female participants and empowered them to stand together as courageous refugee women, share stories, and build strength against sexual gender-based violence. As a part of the evaluative assessment of students in the community-led computer outreach class that is facilitated by BOSCO, an exam was conducted to check on the students' progress and improvement. All the students were excited to perform well as they were very eager to do all the practical MS-Office problems as well as the theoretical MCQs.
