Friends of Portola Railroad Days Portola Railroad Days is an annual community festival celebrating Portola's rich history as a railroad town and is held at Portola City Park in August.

Come join Portola as we celebrate our railroad heritage. Our annual event features the Golden Spike Parade, classic car cruise-in, music, Western re-enactors, vendor fair, raffles, food court, and an assortment of athletic activities-
Willie Tate Memorial Run, softball tournament, open community pool sessions, etc. Come down and enjoy our community event! Portola Railroad Days was started in 1983

by interested merchants and citizens of the Portola Community, along with the support of the City of Portola and the Eastern Plumas Chamber of Commerce. Portola Railroad Days is an annual community festival celebrating Portola's rich history as a railroad town and is held at Portola City Park in August each year. Please check out the website for dates. Portola has been a railroad town since early 1910 when the first passenger train rolled in with some of the families of the railroaders. The Friends of Portola Railroad Days, with the support of the City of Portola, Graeagle Lions Club, the Eastern Plumas Chamber of Commerce, and the Western Pacific Railroad Museum have included activities that has helped bring some of the railroad past to life.
