Tim Starr was tragically killed in a head-on collision on June 1st, 2014. The Remembering Tim Memorial Fund has been created to keep Tim's passion for climbing and the outdoors alive and well in so many others. ave the opportunity to experience climbing and outdoor adventure. The Inaugural Remembering Tim Community Climbing Day will take place in the Spring 2015, and it will be open to children of all ages. The event will take place at Cornell University's Lindseth Climbing Wall in Bartels Hall. The staff of Cornell Outdoor Education will be on hand to teach basic skills to the never-climbed, as well as more advanced instruction for climbing enthusiasts. Other games and activities will take place in the Ramin Room for all children and families. All participants in the Community Climbing Day will then be invited to submit a piece to the Remembering Tim Memorial Fund expressing how and why the experience of learning to climb was meaningful to them, and why would they want to continue learning. The Memorial Fund will select a few participants to receive a camp scholarship for Cornell's Climbing & Outdoor Adventure Camp. The Remembering Tim Community Climbing Day and Camp Scholarship program will occur annually, exposing more and more people to climbing every year!
