No Heart Without Language No Heart Without Language seeks to promote the languages, cultures & individual perspectives indigenous to the Celtic nations among communities in the U.S.

Many established organizations promote Celtic culture and heritage in communities throughout the U.S. The goal of No Heart Without Language is to augment their efforts by providing information about the distinct languages and cultures in modern contexts through the unique perspectives of participating artists. The following principles guide our work:

CULTURE
• Share Celtic culture in its modern,

distinct contexts
• Feature diverse perspectives from artists within these cultures
• Explore the relationship between dominant cultures and subcultures

LANGUAGE
• Teach basic phrases & provide information about the structures of the different languages
• Present the traditions, histories and personal narratives of speakers
• Provide real-life examples of language as used in the artwork
• Promote multilingualism

HUMANITY
• Support artists who speak a Celtic language and whose work is influenced by it
• Encourage tourism to the Celtic nations
• Provide resources to learners interested in formal courses and ‘linguatourism’
