Governor Josh Stein came to the site of Taylor's Wave yesterday to celebrate the ways it will support flood resilience and to announce a series of grants aimed at similar projects across the region. News article in comments. Yay!

Taylor's Wave received some nice national exposure this week! Lot's of positives in the piece as to what projects like these mean for communities and their economies. As for the flags of caution highlighted in the story,.... Unlike the failed effort in Dallas, our project has been designed by a highly experienced and reputable firm - S2O Design and Engineering - and was subjected to rigorous physical modeling in a hydraulics lab. And the comment in the story about high maintnenance and operating costs - that is much more relevant for projects that have mechanical/adjustable components. Ours is designed to not include those.

These “perfect waves” attract kayakers, river surfers, and plenty of visitors.

Quick update on progress at Taylor's Wave - Woodfin NC. Solidly on track as to getting the structure and site-work done. Contractor is doing some important work to interface the Wave structure with the park area upslope. Moving the coffer dam to the opposite side of the river coming soon. We'll provide a fuller video after that. Meanwhile, more design details available in the YouTube video linked in the comments below.
