You might remember the arrest of Toms River Police Officer Rebecca Sayegh. A lot of details are now coming out about this case. When this police officer was arrested, a lot of the comments mocked her calling her crazy and psycho. But, as facts come out it seems like she’s the real victim here.

At a charity event, Officer Sayegh was followed into a bathroom by a fellow police officer where she was sexually assaulted. Numerous police officers who were also at the event witnessed their fellow officer follow Rebecca out of the bathroom.

Not too long before this event Rebecca made national news for rescuing people out of a burning home. Rebecca put her life at risk for residents in immediate danger. In fact numerous messages I’ve received praised her as a police officer. Why is it after she got assaulted and spoke up that her integrity as an officer was questioned?

The Ocean County prosecutor’s office once again did absolutely nothing to help Rebecca after she was assaulted. Government agencies that we are supposed to put our trust in made her out to look like she’s crazy. I can tell you that Rebecca is not crazy. We all have a breaking point. She’s a victim of a failed system that protects men and people in power. If these government agencies fail to protect police officers that are women, how can we expect them to protect our own daughters that are civilians? Truth is we can’t. About a dozen women officers throughout Ocean County have came to me telling me their stories. They’re scared to speak up because of what happened to Rebecca.

Protect our daughters!
