We are thrilled to announce the new SOBA SUMMER ART SHOW Fair Winds Bar & Grill in Rose Hill Plantation (open to the public), including the works of 15 local SOBA artists and featuring classic scenic pieces by Betty Hintz's work.

Betty Hintz was one of the seven founding members of SOBA, and contributed to the low country arts community for more than 20 years. She was a longtime resident of Rose Hill Plantation, in Bluffton, SC, where her family continues to live.

A Chicago native, Betty moved to Bluffton in 1986 after living overseas for 33 years. Her work was inspired not only by the beauty of the low country, but also by the many places she lived and traveled, including Indonesia, the Philippines, South Africa, Singapore, Bali, France, and Italy.

In a meaningful full-circle gesture, Betty Hintz’s family has graciously donated her pieces to SOBA. All sales of her artwork will support SOBA in its mission to help the visual arts thrive in Bluffton. Betty legacy will certainly live on!

You can view and purchase any of the pieces in the summer show online at: https://soba-online.square.site/s/shop

Be sure to visit Fair Winds Bar & Grill during their normal business hours (Tues - Sun) to enjoy the show in the main dining room, bar and lounge areas.

The show will run now through August 31, 2026.

A special thank you to SOBA members Gloria Owens, Joy Walker Donna Raines, Pearl Minzter and Cathy Thiem for their help in bringing this exhibit to life!

Sunrise over the never misses — and caught it at its most breathtaking. Paired with a handcrafted hardwood frame, this piece brings warm coastal light into any space. A true Tybee treasure for anyone who loves art, ocean mornings, and a little lighthouse glow.

"The most rewarding part of being an artist is when my art connects with people and when I share my passion for the work I do." - Hannah Burtnik
