ATTN: NOAA Fisheries has issued South Carolina’s Exempted Fishing Permit for Atlantic red snapper, with a recreational season running October 9–22, 2026.
While South Carolina anglers will have more opportunity to fish for red snapper this fall, CCA South Carolina believes recreational anglers deserve more access and that state-led management is the key to making that happen. We appreciate the role that the SCDNR and the SC Congressional Delegation has played in bringing this to this point.
CCA will continue pushing for management approaches that put recreational anglers and sound fisheries science at the forefront. More information on how you can participate will be forthcoming.
