Just a quick update on the 2027 Celebrating Greyhounds Calendar and Planner. We don't have decisions on photos from the judges yet, but we know they are working on them because they've asked to have some re-sent to them. In the meantime, we're working on the layout of the calendar and planner so that when we hear from the judges, we can plug and play. This year, we got about the same number of photos as last year, but didn't have to extend the due date two weeks. The variety of photos is different every year. Considering the winter a good portion of the country had, we got lots of good snow photos (usually not the case.) There seem to be fewer beach photos this year (we usually get LOTS). We didn't get many patriotic photos (as usual.) But the biggest thing is that we got lots of good photos with multiple dogs. That's hard, especially with greyhounds.

So, thanks for your patience.

If you're heading to Greyhounds in Gettysburg this weekend, remember to take photos you can submit for the Celebrating Greyhounds Calendar and Weekly Planner. It's a very scenic place.

Spring has finally arrived in the Mid-Atlantic. What better way to celebrate National Adopt a Greyhound Month than by attending Greyhounds in Gettysburg April 23-26. It's a greyt opportunity to celebrate Spring, History and, of course, greyhound adoption.

The Greyhound Project founded National Adopt-a-Greyhound Month in 2010. Its purpose is to spread the word about these wonderful dogs as pets. So, what can you do? You could adopt a greyhound. Our website includes a Directory of adoption groups.

What can you do if you already have a greyhound? You can change the banner of your social media to feature a photo of a greyhound. You can meet up with your other greyhound friends for a group walk (you'll get a lot of opportunities to talk about greyhounds as pets.) You could set up a Meet and Greet where you and your friends can talk to folks about what it's like to have a greyhound in your family. It doesn't have to be a regular event, maybe just one morning or afternoon.

So, Happy Adopt-a-Greyhound Month!

While the judges have the difficult task of selecting which photos we use in the Celebrating Greyhounds calendar and planner, we can have some fun with where they are located. This week the Weekly Planner features Lily. We thought Lily's expression summed up exactly what she thinks of switching to Daylight Savings Time.
