Song Circle Houston has a great show lined up at Kojak's cafe for this coming Thursday, Feb 5th. We will have Jacob Furr from Fort Worth in to perform.
Jacob is an award-winning songwriter, multi instrumentalist, collaborator, and genre fluid artist. His work blends West Coast folk with the dusty expanses of West Texas, and explores themes and stories of love, loss, grief, and recovery. Though Furr's most significant work is a three album cycle over 10 years about the loss of his wife to brain cancer in 2013, His songwriting paints pictures of thunderstorms on the Llano Estacado, cemeteries of lost life boat sailors in California, and the intimate feelings and details of recovery and healing. All of these stories and themes are blended into songs that range from towering electric anthems of lost stars, to intimate, solo work."

No cover charge, please make a donation to support the artist. Pam Grisham will open the show.

We've got a great lineup for the rest of October as well, as we will be featuring a six piece bluegrass band called the Fireants on October 9th, Frank Martin Gilligan with Joe Gavito on the 16th, Susan Elliott on the 23rd, and our friend Brian Kalinec will present Joel McColl at a Brian at Berkalin concert series on October 30th. Original live music at its best!
