Earlier this month, Henrik Lundqvist spent a special afternoon with our community partner, NewYork-Presbyterian Children’s Hospital. He met with patients, families, and hospital staff, delivering gifts and memorabilia, playing air hockey, and most importantly, spending quality time together. These visits are always among Henrik’s favorite moments with the Foundation. Thank you to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital for all that you do!

Finding your voice starts with practice 💙

HLFYA VPE participant Alexa Bialous recently joined HLF's virtual public speaking workshop with Bespoke Education and came away feeling more confident, prepared, and inspired. From breakout room introductions to reading exercises and peer feedback, the session gave participants practical tools for speaking effectively in virtual settings.

Thank you to Dan Cozzens and Bespoke Education for creating such an engaging and supportive learning experience for our young leaders.

What an incredible weekend at MSG! Through Henrik's Crease, we were proud to host families from Garden of Dreams — including a family from NY Medical Center and families from the NYPD Women's and Children's Fund — for two unforgettable Rangers games on April 4th and 5th.

Moments like these are what it's all about. Thank you Madison Square Garden and Garden of Dreams for continuing to make these experiences possible.

What happens when young people come together with the shared goal of helping others? Real impact. 💙

At this first in-person Henrik Lundqvist Foundation service event, Young Ambassadors from across New York, New Jersey, and Long Island came together to connect, learn, and take action. After hearing from PwC and the founders of Hockey Helps, ambassadors worked in teams to create pitches supporting NYC teachers in need of classroom supplies through DonorsChoose.

In the end, multiple classrooms received funding, including special-needs teachers who requested sensory tools, headphones, and other resources to better support their students. It was a powerful reminder that when collaboration meets compassion, even one afternoon can create lasting change.

AI is changing the world, and our HLFYA VPE participants are learning how to use it responsibly. 💻✨

In a recent virtual learning service event hosted by RBC Foundation, VPE participants explored the ethics of AI with RBC’s Caelin Bradshaw. From spotting AI generated images to discussing how AI should support, not replace, critical thinking, the session gave students a thoughtful look at how this technology can be used in school, relationships, and the workplace.

Thank you to Caelin and the RBC team for creating such an engaging and educational experience for our young leaders. Read the full story on our website.: https://hlundqvistfoundation.com/2026/vpe-participants-explore-ethical-ai-in-rbc-virtual-learning-event/

What an inspiring moment for our HLF Young Ambassadors Virtual Program Expansion class 💙

On March 8, VPE Ambassadors joined a special video call with Henrik Lundqvist and heard powerful reflections on service, leadership, and resilience. From the importance of giving back in ways big and small to learning that true leadership is about discipline, encouragement, and uplifting others, Henrik shared lessons that go far beyond sports.

His stories reminded us that even the smallest act of kindness can leave a lasting impact. The newest edition of the HLF Young Ambassador Newsletter is here 💙

This Winter 2026 issue highlights the incredible ways our alumni continue to lead through service long after their ambassador year ends. From Sharkey Chandesh’s second hockey equipment drive in Newark, to Rebecca Bressler’s work in adapted sports, to James Griffin’s college service leadership in Austin, to Luke Fischetti bringing Henrik’s children’s book into the classroom, this newsletter is full of meaningful impact and inspiration. It also includes a note from Alumni President Jack Reynolds on the launch of the Virtual Program Expansion and what this next chapter means for HLF’s growing community.

🌍✨ History made for the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation Young Ambassadors program

On January 31, 2026, we welcomed our first ever Virtual Program Expansion (VPE) class, bringing together youth from across the United States, including Arizona, New York, North Carolina, and beyond, plus four students joining from Sweden.

For VPE Program Coordinator Alicia McCarvill, it was a full circle moment, from joining as a Young Ambassador in 2020 to helping launch this next chapter of HLF.

Just days later, the new class jumped into their first virtual service learning event, a Virtual Hunger Simulation with Food Bank For New York City , exploring what food insecurity really looks like for families.
