On Friday 1 May 2026 Rotary Rocks was privileged to host the long-awaited debut gig of The Dead Cherry Pickers Music Society (aka The Dung Beatles). This superb band of talented musicians performed their ‘original stuff’ to an enthusiastic and appreciative capacity audience. New music from old friends.

The concert raised a tremendous £1,027 for the Young Carers Bucks charity. Many thanks to everyone who came and those who bought raffle tickets too. Massive thanks to the The Dead Cherry Pickers Music Society for all their energy and hard work in bringing their studio songs up to gig standard, and to our partner charity Queens Park Arts Centre who looked after everyone so well and without whom we could not run our shows.

Thanks too for the raffle prizes kindly provided by - Heritage & Sons Funeral Directors; Chiltern Railways; ATG Theatre Waterside; Tesco; Rogue Bowling; Rococo Lounge; Sizzling Pub & Grill – The Plough; Queens Park Arts Centre; Michael Anthony Estate Agents; Miller & Carter; Caffe Nero; and members of the Rotary Club of Aylesbury Hundreds. Not forgetting our raffle ticket sellers on the night, Maxine & Keith and Brenda & Lees.

Watch out for our future Rotary Rocks events – they are always a good evening out, and always raise funds for local charities. Next gig date will be in May 2027 at The Limelight Theatre – date and act to be announced soon.

The Queens Park Arts Centre is running a funding appeal for seating replacement in the Limelight Theatre. They are approaching their target – can you help them get there please. https://queensparkarts.com/donate/

We run our Rotary Rocks charity concert fund raisers in partnership with The Queens Park Arts Centre. See our earlier posts about the upcoming gig on 1 May 2026. The Centre are doing some fund raising of their own - please help them to reach their target of £60k to upgrade the seating in the Limelight Theatre - Aylesbury's iconic small venue............

Help your Local Arts Centre upgrade it's theatre!

Aylesbury's Queens Park Arts Centre has been providing and facilitating creativity in the community for over 45 years, under our motto of 'Arts For All'. This year, we are fundraising to replace the raked seating in the Limelight Theatre to improve audience comfort and allow us to reclaim the flexibility of our theatre space that has, until recently, always been able to host a range of community events and immersive theatre shows alongside our traditional theatre and live music gigs.

We have been fundraising since Autumn 2025 and we are two thirds of the way to our ambitious target of £60,000 thanks to an Opportunity Bucks grant, some very generous donations and the combined efforts of our collection buckets and raffle tickets. We now need the final £20,000 by Summer to ensure the work can be done over the Summer break, avoiding disruption to gigs, workshops and day-to-day operations.

If you've ever seen a show at the Limelight Theatre or attended our workshops, we need you now! Please head over to GoFundMe https://gofund.me/ddae6e747 or go to the website and search Queens Park Arts Centre to donate if you can and share our campaign with family, friends and beyond.

Help us continue to provide Arts For All!

Invitation to local businesses - would you like to work with us to raise funds for YoungCarers Bucks? We now need prizes for the raffle at our next Rotary Rocks charity fundraiser concert on 1 May 2026. Are you able to help please?

Donors of raffle prizes will be acknowledged and thanked individually during the concert and in our pre and post event publicity. All prizes will be marked to show the donor. After the show we tell donors the amount raised by the raffle and the event overall. The raffle is popular and important in boosting the funds raised. Raffle tickets are sold in advance and on the night.

The concert will be the live debut of the online music sensation 'The Dead Cherry Pickers Music Society' - aka the local and excellent 'Dung Beatles' - everyone's favourite Beatles band. They will perform their own original music for the first time. There has been considerable interest in this unique event and we are hopeful of a sell-out.

The concert will take place at the Limelight Theatre in the Queens Park Arts Centre. We are grateful for the ongoing support of the Arts Centre for our Rotary Rocks gigs. See details on attached flyer.

If you would like to help please get in touch. E-mails should be sent to [email protected]

If your business doesn't lend itself to a suitable prize then alternatives such as vouchers for local shops, bottles etc are just fine. Prizes that require the winner to make a purchase are not suitable (e.g. discount vouchers, however generous). We are of course happy to collect the prize(s) by prior arrangement.
