Today, I embarked on my first step to completing my AP Capstone project with the Ridgewood Academy for Health Professions. Working with Valley Hospital has been a dream, it is truly such a blessing to have such a wonderful support network to guide me and my peers through the medical research process, I could not be more grateful!

I’ve been a RAHP student for 3 years now, and the experiences it has given me have been nothing short of life changing. Just last year, I was given the opportunity to observe a LIVE BIRTH and let me just say, it was the coolest thing ever. Had it not been for this medical internship program, I wouldn’t have such a grounded sense of what I want to pursue in the field of medicine (hint hint, deliver babies). I cannot express my gratitude enough for this program and all it has given me and my classmates!!

Today, I conducted my interview for the Quality of Life scholarship as a finalist and I truly could not be more thankful for this opportunity to speak about BREATHE.

BREATHE is a project I started at 14 years old after I was sexually assaulted at 13 years old and it became abundantly clear that my age group was severely under resourced. Since then, I have donated hand-curated comfort kits to local women’s homes, domestic violence shelters, and most notably, the YWCA of Northern NJ to aid young survivors in their healing journey.

Ultimately, my goal is to create a safe space where we can form a community of survivors to implement tools and facilitate open conversations. The first step in this journey is de stigmatizing the topic, which is exactly what I am doing as the founder of BREATHE and Miss New Jersey’s Teen.

Having the privilege to speak about preventative measures to sexual assault through my partnership with the One Love Foundation and my support resources through comfort kits was truly a dream come true.

BREATHE is only going to continue growing; this is just the beginning 💙

Prelims have officially concluded, and wow am I just so incredibly grateful. Getting to represent New Jersey at Miss America’s Teen has already been more than I could have imagined, and I’m trying to take in every second.

Thank you to my family, friends, and everyone back home who has supported me, believed in me, and made this journey possible. I’m walking away from prelims feeling incredibly thankful, and SO excited for what’s still to come 🩵.
