Cultural Competency Collective of Greater Kansas City Building long-term sustainability and community collaboration to provide culturally appropriate care and reduce disparities in service.

The Cultural Competency Collective of Greater Kansas City aims to reduce health disparities by preparing organizations and their staff to meet the health needs of racially, ethnically and culturally diverse populations. The collective focuses on organizational policies, practices and other infrastructural changes that can positively influence delivery of care. Initial core support was provided by

the REACH Healthcare Foundation. A partnership has grown to include the Jackson County Community Mental Health Fund, the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City, the REACH Healthcare Foundation and the Shumaker Family Foundation; together they support the development of customized, cultural competency technical assistance to organizations and institutions in our metropolitan service area.
