Restart a Heart Day takes place on Friday 16 October. This global day raises awareness of cardiac arrest and the lifesaving difference CPR and defibrillators can make. Here are four things we can all do to help give someone the best chance of survival:

1) Learn CPR and how to use a defibrillator. Anyone can learn with our free online training tool, RevivR. It only takes 15 minutes, and one day those skills could help save a life. https://www.bhf.org.uk/how-you-can-help/how-to-save-a-life/how-to-do-cpr/learn-cpr-in-15-minutes

2) In an emergency, every second counts. Knowing where to find your nearest defibrillator could save precious time and help save a life. Find yours here: https://www.defibfinder.uk/

3) Register your defibrillator on The Circuit. If there's a defibrillator in your workplace, community venue or organisation, make sure it's registered on The Circuit so ambulance services know where to find it when it's needed most. https://www.thecircuit.uk/

Farsley Community Defibrillator Fund

This is exactly why we do what we do ❤️

On Tuesday, we received notification that the defibrillator at Farsley Village W**e Bar had been requested by the ambulance service to help someone in an emergency.

We know that behind every alert is a real person, a real family and a situation that may be incredibly difficult. Our thoughts are very much with whoever needed the defibrillator, and with everyone involved ❤️

When one of our defibrillators is used, our volunteer team is notified. We go and check the unit, replace the pads if they’ve been used or need replacing, make sure everything is ready and then place the defibrillator back on the system as available and ready for the next emergency.

And this is exactly why our volunteer team do what we do.

Every fundraiser, every donation, every tin, every event and every hour volunteered helps us keep these life-saving devices available in our community when they’re needed most.

We hope this defib helped someone on Tuesday ❤️

Our first time picking up a collection tin since the new owners have taken over, and I can honestly say they are just as bloody lovely as the last! 🥰

They’re continuing the amazing support and generosity that the guys at Harveys Family Butchers gave to the Farsley Community Defibrillator Fund, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
