Today's YAC meeting was all about timelines. We had ten young folk come along and help us construct a timeline with pictures, objects and some models we made at the session . Our next meeting is 26 April at HMS Tern

Thanks to Alistair and Judy for leading a great session yesterday on Archaeological Drawing. The Young Archaeologists had a go at offset planning of the conservatory at Maeshowe visitor centre. They also tested out their artefact observation skills by drawing tatties! Their drawings were so accurate that Leader Ellen could identify the potatoes just from the drawings!

Keep an eye out for your Postie. The cool folks at Historic Environment Scotland are offering free entry to their sites on the first Sunday of the month, a perfect day out as the weather heads toward spring. There’s even a castle tower to colour in on the back 😀.

This weekend we met up at Maeshowe visitor centre, with thanks to Cat and Phil from Historic Environment Scotland for hosting. The focus of our session was the incredible archaeology just up the road at Friends of the Ness of Brodgar Thanks to all for coming and see you in February!
