FSWS August Highlights

➡️Professionals from Aġenzija Sedqa and the Directorate for Alternative Care attended the 11th International Conference on Behavioural Addictions in Istanbul, Türkiye. The conference provided an opportunity to exchange expertise, strengthen professional networks and support the development of evidence-based prevention and treatment practices.

➡️ August marked a record month for forensic interviews at the Children’s House, with the highest number of cases recorded to date. This work strengthens child protection by improving collaboration and coordination among professionals and organisations involved in safeguarding children.

➡️Awareness sessions were delivered to Year 5 and Year 6 students attending summer schools across Malta. The sessions promoted Supportline 179 and its online chat facility, while helping children understand the difference between appropriate discipline and abusive behaviour and encouraging them to seek support when needed.

➡️ During the month of August, two awareness stalls were organised in Gozo to promote the work of FSWS and increase awareness of the services and support available to individuals, families and the wider community.

Permezz ta' youth work ibbażat fuq attivitajiet fi grupp, il-programm jgħin liż-żgħażagħ jibnu l-kunfidenza, ir-reżiljenza u ħiliet importanti għall-ħajja, filwaqt li jħeġġiġhom jipparteċipaw aktar fil-komunità tagħhom.

YEI joffri firxa ta' attivitajiet u programmi, inklużi sports, attivitajiet fil-beraħ, drama, fotografija, DJing, proġetti ta' żvilupp personali, kif ukoll il-King's Trust Programme.

Through group-based youth work, YEI helps young people build confidence, resilience, and essential life skills while encouraging active participation within their communities.

The service offers a wide range of programmes and activities, including sports, outdoor experiences, drama, photography, DJing, personal development projects, and the King's Trust Programme.
