Juan Portrait Taking Pictures. Giving Back. Capturing the Filipino Spirit.

Juan Portrait is a Filipino organization of photographers, writers, professionals, students, and volunteers from every walk of life coming together to give back to the community through photography, workshops and other community-empowering events. Juan Portrait is part of the global Help-Portrait movement and is one of the main drivers of the Help-Portrait Philippines movement. Juan Portrait is pa

rt of HP - PH movement, whereas HP - PH is a movement composed of many other groups within the country. Our roots like in the Help-Portrait movement, a global movement of photographers who use their skills to give back. Expanding on this base, Juan Portrait aims to, not only use photography, but also the various skillsets that we have in order to organize, fund, and eventually deploy community-enriching projects that either assist existing partner-projects or spur development through technology and professional expertise.

Last June 30, Juan Portrait was back on the trail to do — and this time, it led us to the kind and inspiring community of Sitio Tangan-Tangan, Brgy. Maamot, San Jose, Tarlac.

With cameras in hand and purpose in our steps, our volunteers hiked 4 hours up and 4 hours down, crossing five rivers — accompanied by the passionate Teacher Irene, head of the school.

Each smile we captured was worth every step of the climb. We’re grateful to the Tarlac Mountaineering Club, Team K-workz, The Storytelling Project, and Pempapel — thank you for lending your time, heart, and strength to make this mission happen with us. The Team K-workz distributed school supplies, organized fun games and Kuya Ben of TSP read a short story for the kids. While our JP volunteers, took portraits of the students.

We carry with us the hope to return — to stay longer, listen deeper, and understand more about the lives behind the smiles. We’re excited to capture more stories and more moments that reflect the spirit of this community.

Mission Recap: Guguinto, Bulacan 2024

Juan Portrait goes back to documenting the Filipino story as we successfully hit the streets of Guiguinto for the Juan Hundred project.

The mission was conducted last June 16, 2024. Veteran and new Jpeeps took pictures and collected stories from the colorful people of Guiguinto. Take time to see each and every slides to know what they have shared to us.

In behalf of JP we would like to thank our ates and kuyas who shared their time and resources for the successful conduct of this mission.
