Hey folks. Adoptions have been so slow recently and we have quite a few dogs still needing adoption and a couple who will need a new foster home soon.

Yes, you might look at these dogs and think “well they are safe so we don’t need to help them”, and yes, our dogs are safe. But for every dog we get adopted, we get to save another dog (maybe one that might not be so “safe” wherever the dog is) and that turnover can save so many more dogs! So please consider adopting our dogs so we can keep bringing others into our rescue who need our help.

Extremely playful with all dogs.

KIERA - 17 years old Chihuahua.
Fospice. Good with dogs.

O’RORA- 8 year old Chihuahua
Needs adopter.
Good with dogs, initially fearful with people.

ELLIOT - 1 year old pit bull X.
Need adopter who is willing to continue training.
Great with people and dogs.

BENNY- 1 year old French Bulldog.
Available for adoption soon, good with people and dogs.

CHICKPEA - 12 year old Bully.
Needs adopter. Some medical issues.

Now that the nice weather is finally here, many of us are looking forward to dining outdoors. Since we've been busy throughout the week, leaving our dogs behind might not be ideal. Toscana on Main offers an exceptional patio experience and is very dog-friendly. In fact, your dog might even receive a drink before you do 😛. I highly recommend visiting for lunch, dinner or ever a cocktail or two, I'm confident you won't be disappointed. The food is amazing and we love all the staff, owners Phil and Grace are so nice and also huge animal lovers. Come check this place out, you will not be disappointed.

We would like to introduce Kirby, our latest best bullies addition, who weighs 14 pounds and is around 4 years old. Given her shy nature, Kirby will be allowed time to adjust before being made available for adoption. Anyone is free to submit an application for preapproval now though.

We are not sure as to why Norman has not yet been adopted, but fortunately, he is still available. Norman, the little grey and white dog featured in the video, thoroughly enjoys interacting with other dogs and people alike. Best Bullies has had an extraordinary week, highlighted by the rescue of four dogs from the shelter. On Thursday, we took in Diego, a Chihuahua, and today, we welcomed Norman, a Shih Tzu, and Harriet, a tiny Maltese mix, weighing just 4.3 pounds. Meanwhile, Sprout, who weighs 94 pounds, will be residing with three Chihuahuas, and since he conveniently fit into the SUV's rear section, here he is:)

We would like to introduce Diego, a 3-year-old 10 lb Chihuahua, to the Best Bullies community. Diego was removed from the home of an overwhelmed pet owner where they were living in poor conditions and received care from the ASPCA before being transferred to Best Bullies. He is still somewhat anxious; however he gets along well with other dogs. Diego is currently not available for adoption but is expected to be soon.

HUCKLEBERRY - Rest easy sweet boy. Huckleberry came to us about seven years ago, and he was so lucky to have found the most amazing adopters who took him in at the age of 13, thinking they would give him a safe and comfortable place to relax for the remaining time he had left.

Well, this boy was so well cared for that he stuck around for 7 years until he made it to the grand old age of 20! Huck loved all his family, but he had a very special bond with his “dad” who rescued him. We want wish his family well tonight and also sincerely thank them for loving this gentle pup. Love and hugs.❤️💔💔❤️

Sweet Willow. We pulled her from Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) last January (2025) and even though she was as sweet as can be, she still waited
almost a year to be adopted. But look at her now, living her best life.

We are so grateful to the foster people that are willing to do long-term fosters until we can get dogs into their forever homes.
