The NY Animal Agriculture Coalition Mobile Dairy Experience was on the moo-ve and made a stop at Elba Central School. Milk for Health's board president, Kendra Lamb brought a calf for students to visit. A great way for students to connect with agriculture in a hands-on way! Looks like everyone was all smiles 😊

🌎🐄 Dairy farmers are continuing to do more with less.

Over the past decade, advances in technology, cow care, and farm management have helped dairy farms reduce their environmental footprint while continuing to produce wholesome, nutritious milk for families. Today, producing a gallon of milk uses 21% less land, 30% less water, and creates a 19% smaller carbon footprint than it did just 10 years ago.

🌷Happy Mother's Day 🌷

Today, we celebrate all the incredible women who help shape our families, communities, and future.

This Mother’s Day, we especially want to recognize the women in dairy and agriculture whose strength, compassion, and dedication help keep our farms and rural communities thriving. From caring for their families to caring for their animals and land, farm women wear many hats each and every day.

Behind every farm is a story of dedication, sacrifice, and love passed from one generation to the next. This Mother’s Day, we’re highlighting the passion and commitment behind being a woman farmer and honoring the incredible women helping shape the future of agriculture each and every day.

To all mothers, daughters, grandmothers, caregivers, and women making a difference in the lives of others — thank you for all that you do. Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Milk for Health! 🥛🩷🐄

💧🐄 Technology Tuesday: Cooling Milk, Conserving Water

Ever wonder how milk goes from the cow to your glass so fresh and high quality? It starts right on the farm—with smart technology like plate coolers.

As milk leaves the cow, it’s quickly cooled using a plate cooler—a system that runs cold water alongside the milk to bring the temperature down fast. This helps protect milk quality.

But here’s the best part 👇
That water doesn’t go to waste.

🌱 The water used in the cooling process is recycled and reused around the farm—whether it’s for watering cows or other daily tasks.

It’s a simple but powerful example of how dairy farmers use innovation to care for their cows, their milk, and our natural resources. 🥛

Farmers use a clever piece of equipment called a plate cooler to save energy and water.
