💜 Volunteers Needed – The Big Walk 2026 💜

Parkinson’s Queensland is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us deliver The Big Walk 2026, taking place during Parkinson’s Awareness Month - Sunday 19th April.

Our volunteers are essential in making events like this possible. From assisting with registrations and guiding participants along the walk routes, to helping at information stalls and supporting the finish-line celebrations, volunteers help create a welcoming and supportive day for everyone involved.

Why volunteer?

Volunteering is a great opportunity to:
• Support people living with Parkinson’s and their families
• Give back to your local community
• Meet new people and be part of an inspiring event
• Help raise awareness and support vital services across Queensland

Every volunteer helps us continue providing education, support programs, advocacy and resources for people living with Parkinson’s throughout Queensland.

đź‘• All volunteers will receive a commemorative Big Walk volunteer t-shirt.

Here we go again. Number 5 coming up!

⚠️ R U READY? Let's go for another round shall we... Storms right across SEQLD , CQLD & NENSW today - some could be severe with heavy rain, flash flooding, damaging winds & large hail (Storms already firing up inland areas moving East)
đź”´Cloud cover this morning has taken the edge off high end dangerous severity by the looks. Atmospheric forecast adjustments for temperature & humidity are still providing high energy numbers which are plenty good enough to produce severe cells.
đź”´A strong surface trough is located inland with very humid unstable conditions to its East. Lines of storms are expected to move through inland areas during the day and reach the coast later on (Black line & Arrows). This means that most people will be get rain or a storm today.
👉Stay on your toes and watch for live warnings, we will send out plenty so come directly to our HSC page and keep checking ok.
