The Ernakulam Sailing Association (ESA) is affiliated to the Kerala Yachting Association, the nodal body for sailing in the state. With Kochi having hosted the first ever Indian stopover of the Volvo Ocean Race and with India's first private marina at Bolgatty Island, the city is on its way to become a premier yachting hub. ESA's other affiliations are with the Yachting Association of India, National Optimist Association of India and Laser Class Association of India.
