The Natural Bridge Historical Society will be sponsoring an exhibit at the Tallahassee History Festival this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Intermural Field of the Tallahassee State College (TSC) main campus (Appleyard Drive). The Festival is a free community event with over 100 exhibits from the Big Bend area. Please come join us.

Battle of Natural Bridge Reenactment - March 7 & 8 -Make your plans now to attend!

The reenacting committee of the Natural Bridge Historical Society, Inc. is currently accepting applications from home and public school classes to “tour the camps” on Friday, March 6, 2026 at the upcoming reenactment of the Battle of Natural Bridge. Participants will take part in a guided tour of both the Confederate and Union camps where they will be greeted by Living Historians explaining the life of a common soldier during the American Civil. The tours will end in a visit to the Sutlers Row where merchants of the period will offer for sale souvenirs and authentic reproductions of items used by both soldiers and civilians during the 1860’s.

If interested, please message this page with your contact information (i.e., name, email, phone number), the number of school age children in your group, and the number of adult chaperones. Time slots and group sizes are limited and will be scheduled on a first come first serve basis.

LIVING HISTORY
(Confederate) Fort Ward

The public is invited to join local reenactors as we share the historic role of (Confederate) Fort Ward during the American Civil War. There will be a small encampment with musket and artillery demonstrations throughout the day.

The annual summer meeting of the Natural Bridge Historical Society, Inc. (NBHS) Board of Directors (BOD) will be held on Saturday August 16, 2025 at the Rakestraw House, Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic State Park, starting at 10:00 AM. The meeting is open to the public, our sponsors, partners, and other interested parties. If you have any items that need to be discussed at the meeting, please comment or message this site.
