This is an early announcement for the Kanab Arts Board 2026 Second Quarter Exhibition theme. Next year, we are celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. We invite our community to start thinking about creating artworks that honor and reflect America’s journey. Whether through painting, sculpture, photography, or any creative medium, your art can help tell the story of who we are and where we’re headed. Let’s commemorate this milestone together through creativity!

The exhibition will be from April to June 2026 at the Kane County Hospital and Kanab City Library lobbies. We will publish more details/guidelines. In the meantime, here's a few info:
- 2-3 artworks per artists
- email photos of your artworks to [email protected]
- use the subject line "America250."

Final number of artworks per artists will be determined by the number of submissions we receive.

For questions about the exhibition or any of our events, please email us at [email protected]

A huge thank you to Jamie Vandenburg, one of our two guest professional chalk artists, for adding her amazing flair to this year's Kanab Arts Festival. Before she left, we asked her advice on how we can improve our art for next year's chalk art.

Be sure to go over to the Kanab Center/City offices to see Jamie's amazing work, "Dream Big." in person.

About Jamie Vandenburg

As a self-taught professional sidewalk chalk artist, Jamie Vandenberg has honed her skills over 10 years, with seven of those years spent competing in sidewalk chalk competitions. Her impressive work earned her the 2025 Best In Show award at the Chalk It Up Competition hosted by the Harrington Center for the Arts in Lehi, Utah.

Her artistic journey hasn't been limited to chalk; she's also explored other mediums like charcoal, watercolor, pastels, markers and colored pencils. By teaching sidewalk chalk camps and volunteering at local public schools, Jamie shares her passion for art with others, inspiring her students to compete and showcase their talents.
