I’m not sure there’s a perfect way to put into words what this number means. For the first time in John Hardin FFA history, we have 201 members. That’s a record for our chapter, and it’s something we should be incredibly proud of.
But honestly, this post isn’t really about the number.
It’s about OUR people.
This has been a work in progress for a lot of years. We have never measured success by contest wins and individual accoplishments, because honestly, that does not tell the story of what a quality Ag. Ed. Program is. Those things are nice, and we celebrate when it happens to the max, but it has ALWAYS been about the TOTAL program and about each other. There have been plenty of challenges, setbacks, roadblocks, and moments when things didn’t go the way we wanted them to or people didn't understand what we were doing or why. There have been times when we’ve had to regroup, adjust, and keep moving forward even as the odds were so dramatically stacked against us.
But we did.
And year after year, our members, families, alumni, and supporters have continued to believe in what this program could become.
Now we’re seeing the results.
We set goals. We’re exceeding them.
We raised expectations. Our members have risen to them.
We built a culture. Our members are carrying it forward.
So yes, I’m proud of 201.
But I’m even more proud of what 201 represents.
It represents years of work.
It represents hundreds of students who have walked through our doors and changed the way people viewed urban ag. progams and redefined agriculture.
It represents families who have trusted us with their kids.
It represents members who refused to settle for average and strived to level up every single opportunity.
And it represents a culture that we’re building for the students who haven’t even joined John Hardin FFA yet.
This is OUR accomplishment.
One advisor.
201 members.
One Culture of Excellence.
And the best part?
We’re not finished. We’re just getting started.
