Nailstone WI Nailstone Women's Institute (WI) We are a small, friendly group. We meet on 3rd Thursday of each month at 7 pm in Nailstone All Saints Church.

We welcome visitors and new members.

Our Summer Trip this year is to the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas.
There are 150 acres to explore with gardens, memorials and statues.
The cost is £18 to cover the cost of coach hire.
We'll depart Nailstone at 9am, and leave the Arboretum at 4pm.
Bring a picnic and we'll all lunch together.

Our amazing Hilary, without whom there would be no Nailstone WI at Ashby Show.
On top of all her work cajoling and organising us, designing layouts for our exhibits, setting up the exhibits , baking for collaborative entries as well as individual entries and packing up the exhibits …she has taken on the mantle of CHIEF STEWARD this year.
And what a great job she did.
Hilary you’re a superstar.

Hilary got a first for her Stollen Bites, Second for her Winter Punch and Third for her Gingerbread Biscuits and Cranberry Chutney.
Very well done.

And, following in her Grandma’s footsteps, a First for Hilary’s granddaughter, Esmé, for her Friendship Bracelet in children’s competitions.

We had a great day at Ashby Show yesterday, if a bit on the hot side, with some excellent results.

Here are our three collaborative entries

Section 3 Craft & Cookery - the theme was Autumn.

Congratulations to Alison, Lesley & Shirley for winning this section and the S G Joyce Trophy. 🏆

Section 1 Cookery - the theme was Winter.

We went for a Burns Night Supper and were placed joint second.
Shelley’s ‘Black Bun’ won the Else trophy for Outstanding Cookery Item 🏆

Section 2 Handcraft - the theme was Spring

Well done to all our ladies who took part, creating some splendid displays.
