🌿 Raccoons are not sick if you see them out during the day!
During baby season, it's totally normal for moms to be out foraging during daylight hours while they move their young. 🦝💚
However, if you're seeing them around your home or farm, here are a few ways to deter them:

Secure trash bins with tight-fitting lids 🗑️

Close off entry points to attics, basements, and sheds 🚪

Use motion-activated lights or sprinklers 💡🌊

Keep pet food indoors, especially overnight 🐾

Remember, raccoons are just trying to provide for their families. Let them do their important work of moving their young to safety! 🌱

Moose is still here. He really needs a family. Moose loves men, loves to ride, and he is strong. He is large in size. He would be best as the only dog or with a female. He is 7 years old and needs a home now.

Our last post about the 3 dogs that need out of the rescue as soon as possible is about this BIG boy.
Apollo is a 2 year old male Great Pyrenees. He is a very handsome boy that is bred for a specific purpose. He weighs 160 # and has very thick white hair. He was surrendered to us because his owner had health problems and could not longer care for him.
He needs a specific home with a job to do as well. After spending time with Apollo we can see he needs grooming and his toenails cut. He did well on his walk last night with the other dogs, but we were told by his owner that he doesn't like being challenged by other dogs. He seemed to do great with the pups running around him though.
He has a big appetite and drinks lots of water--as you would imagine this large of dog would.
We want a home that will take care of his needs. He needs to be neutered asap, he needs consistent grooming and he needs a large space to hang out and perhaps another giant dog to teach him the art of watching over his pets.
He doesn't like kennels, so he is in the large run with the door to get into that kennel with his own very large bed to lay on. He is ok for now, but we want the right home, with the right fit for him and his new family.
Anyone need a Giant dog that will be able to give him the best life ever? He deserves this--he has been through enough.
So, there is the story of the 3 special dogs that we just got in recently that need homes soon. Please pass the word.

8 years ago we started our barn cat program! Fast forward to today and we’ve done over 4500 barn cat surgeries! A big shout out to Animal Shelter of Northeast Nebraska, Norfolk Cat Project, Erna R Badstieber Paws and Claws Adoption Center, Catz Angels CARE, Inc., and Stray to Spay for joining us and supporting us in this amazing program! Look how little baby Charlie is 🥰
