Thorn Haven is in the initial stages right now, but will be evolving quickly from idea to reality very soon. It is actually a continually evolving entity that started as just an animal sanctuary/wildlife rehabilitation center to an organic CSA farm where we grow all the feed for the animals as well as for people. It is also a community outreach and educational center with many entertaining events
as well. It will feature off-grid energy sources, vast gardens (medicinal, culinary and ornamental) many out buildings such as wood shop, metal shop, class building and info/gift shop. We make our own wood and feed pellets, do all our own food growth, repairs, permaculture lifestyle, and hold community events. Some of them being wild edibles, mushroom forays, foraging, dowsing, bird walks, nature and wildlife hikes, native plant id and invasive species, herbs and their magical, culinary, and medicinal uses, organic practices, alternative energy choices and how they can work for you, and many more. There will be a smaller scale train that goes all throughout the property for guests to ride and get an overview of the whole property. The gift shop will have our homemade wines, canned goods, cheeses, candles, soap, usual gift shop items, books, etc...hand crafted fiber goods. Local artists can showcase their work here and we'll hold events like concerts, motorcycle runs and non-denominational spiritual events such as labyrinth walks, shaman, reiki, tarot, yoga, quantum manifestation, Qui gong and many more. Cider making and seasonal events such as pick your own pumpkin day with carving contest, and other events. Fall harvest weekend...now you have these veggies, what do you do with them cooking classes, as well as theme weekends. Pirate, Steampunk, Faerie, Sabbat festivals just to name a few.
