Across Africa, many children continue to face challenges in accessing safe water, sanitation, and hygiene services, growing up in environments where clean water, proper toilets, and hygiene facilities are still not a daily reality.

On 16 June 2026, YAM-Malawi, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Uganda, and Ghana will come together for a powerful online dialogue for the Day of the African Child, focused on advancing universal access to water, sanitation, and hygiene for every child in Africa.

Join, share, and be part of the voice pushing for dignity, health, and equal access to WASH services for all children.

Our brothers and sisters in Dowa.

How are you today?

We were just thinking and wondering about our environment.
Kongwe Mountain and the forest around it used to be so beautiful, full of thick green trees. But now? The trees are almost gone.
People are cutting them down every day to burn charcoal, and the mountain is looking bare and empty. The soil is washing away when it rains, and even the streams are starting to dry up.

It really pains our hearts to see this. If we keep destroying our own environment like this, what will be left for us and our children tomorrow?
As Dowa Youth Action Movement, we believe we must start thinking differently. Kongwe Mountain belongs to all of us – let’s protect it before it’s too late.
