Every year Muscle Walk rolls around, I think, "Tana's Bananas probably won't make goal this year, but that's okay." And every year you all prove me wrong.

First MDA Muscle Walk the Bananas have been able to attend since pre-pandemic. It was fun experiencing the Minnesota walk, and loved being able to see those beautiful MDA ladies again, if only briefly. Two bananas definitely doesn't make a bunch, so we were grateful to have some Cities area nanners able to come out and walk with us. Thank you again to everyone who donated this year, and pushing us past our goal. Love to each of you, always. 💛🍌💪

We did it! Thanks to all of you beautiful beings, we surpassed our $3,030 goal for Muscle Walk! Love and gratitude to each of you. It's going to be a toasty one Saturday morning, but if you're in the St. Louis Park area, you are sure welcome to come walk with Brenda and Tana at the Minnesota Muscle Walk. 💛💪🍌

The summer of '93 was the first summer I knew I had Muscular Dystrophy. 30 years ago. Unbelievable.

What was always kind of fascinating is, before I would ever even know I had MD, the small community I grew up in already supported the MDA cause in different ways. My uncle Wes, who owned a sports bar, hosted an auction for MDA every year, and the Edgerton Swimming Pool did a Jerry's Kids fundraising drive each summer. That summer, 6 months post diagnosis, I was the top fundraiser for our pool drive. That would set the tone for me.

I have always believed fundraising was my part in moving progress forward. Gathering resources within my reach to help enable scientists to do their work, knowing every dollar counts. For 3 decades I have been incredibly blessed with support in doing so.
