Mountain Movers Buchanan County VA Chapter We are a faith-based coalition.

Our vision is to have a safe, healthy & prosperous community where the needs of ALL residents are met; where effective prevention, recovery & resources are available; and to have community members helping our neighbors. Our mission is to identify, and then bring awareness about, the challenges that exists in our community; and, as believers to pray, work together and find ways to address these issues; and, with God's help, to move these mountains!

You don't wait for an emergency to learn where the fire extinguisher is. The same idea applies to mental health.

Before the school year gets busy, take a few minutes to learn what support is available in your community.

📌 Know your child's school counselor or mental health support contacts.
📌 Save your local Community Services Board's information.
📌 Talk with your child about trusted adults they can turn to.
📌 Know how to access crisis support.
📌 Keep medications and fi****ms safely secured at home.

And remember: 988 is available 24/7 by call or text for people experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis—or for someone concerned about a loved one.

Being prepared isn't about expecting something to go wrong. It's about making sure you know what to do if it does. This school year, let's be prepared to support our kids—mind, body, and heart.

🇺🇸 MOUNTAIN MOVERS .... BUCHANAN COUNTY, VA
Friday, September 11th... 12:00 Pm... Buchanan County Public Library .... Makers Space Room
September 11th is a day our nation will never forget. It is a day marked by terrorism, loss, and the deaths of innocent people... leaving families and communities forever changed.
Today, our communities are facing another form of destruction.
Addiction is taking our loved ones.Drugs are destroying families. Stigma keeps people from asking for help. And too many lives are being lost.
At this month's Mountain Movers Coalition meeting, we will be discussing and planning the upcoming Buchanan County Recovery Court event and how we can come together as a community to support the participants, strengthen this program, and help change the way people see recovery.
This isn't about judging people for where they've been.
It's about standing beside them as they move toward where they're going.
Let's put an end to the stigma.Let's stand against the destruction addiction brings.Let's remember those we've lost. And let's support those who are still fighting for their lives.
Come be with us. Come be part of the solution.
Let's show Buchanan County.....and the world... that recovery is possible.

WE DO RECOVER. ❤️🇺🇸
