Congratulations to one of our Life Members, Lorraine, for the recognition she has received for her tireless commitment and passion to our Quilting Community.

LUT-DA AWARD

This year’s Lut-Da recipient is Lorraine Hammond - congratulations! 🥂

This award acknowledges an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to their community through quilting. Their work may have been to assist individuals or groups in need, or to develop programs to assist the general community, and must have utilised the medium of quilting. This award will recognise an individual who has worked for their community, via the medium of quilting. It is called Lut-Da after the aboriginal word meaning “to give”.

It was a pleasure to deliver all our members beautiful knitting and crocheting work to Wollongong Hospital Birthing and Neonatal units. Honorary member, Hilary, was well represented with lots of booties, bonnets and cardigans received with great appreciation from nurses Claire and Lauren. Thank you everyone for your generous support of our local hospital. 🩷💙
