The Africa-America Institute bridges Africa and its diaspora to catalyze a more sustainable and equitable world

More than 23,000 individuals from 54 African countries have benefited from our higher education scholarship and professional training programs, and are among today’s leaders in Africa’s public, non-profit, and private sectors. Some 90 percent of our alumni live and work in Africa, significantly contributing to the continent’s development in fields ranging from finance, business, technology and public administration to agriculture, education, public health, and natural resource management.

Inspired by archived covers of AAI's Africa Report Magazine, the logo for this year's Annual Awards Gala recreates the font and aesthetic, paying homage to our shared past and our commitment to chart "New Coordinates" for the future. Our 42nd Awards Gala will be held in November 2026.

AAI's 42nd Annual Awards Gala will convene this November in a new form — an afternoon summit, followed by the traditional dinner and honoring. For forty-two years, we have brought together a room worth being in, and this year we are excited to be giving that room more than an evening.
