Shortcuts to film-making ShortCUTS is a unique project that helps people come together to form film-making teams, and create a short film.

The project seeks to engage young people from a wide range of backgrounds, including those who would not ordinarily engage with film-making networks and training. It also aims to engage young people with a wide range of interests and skill sets.

As somewhereto_ regional coordinator, Hot Tap Media worked with a team of somewhereto_ volunteers (Claire Dufour, Lauren McCorkindale, Dylan Drumm

ond and Steven Grant) to deliver the pilot phase of ShortCUTS. The volunteers helped shape and develop the project, and delivered it in Dundee. By Ricochet will be delivering ShortCUTS which is now funded by Dundee City Council Youth Investment Fund, Dundee Partnership Community Regeneration Forums of Lochee, Coldside and Maryfield, and also supported by Hot Tap Media in association with somewhereto_, a UK-wide project funded by the Big Lottery Fund, which helps 16-25 year olds access unused spaces for free. By Ricochet represents ShortCUTS' coordination team, including project coordinators Claire Dufour and Lauren McCorkindale. ShortCUTS will also benefit from the legacy of creative networks formed in the city throughout the pilot phase of ShortCUTs in 2012. This year, the project will particularly seeks to engage young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training, and who live in the Community Regeneration Areas of Lochee, Coldside and Maryfield.
