Due to the overwhelming number of books that have been donated by the St. Louis community, our wonderful volunteers are going to need several weeks to prepare for the upcoming Book Fair. Because of this, please see the important information below regarding the donation of books to our local Book Houses. We have also paused donations at our Maryland Heights warehouse.

Too many books - it's a good problem to have!

Thanks for the shout out, Books for STL Kids! With just weeks to go before this year's 2026 Greater St. Louis Book Fair, this is a great reminder of why we do what we do. The proceeds from the Book Fair stay in the St. Louis area, supporting other non-profit organizations that focus on literacy. We hope you will come support our cause, April 30th - May 3rd at Queeny Park.

We’re incredibly grateful to the Greater St. Louis Book Fair for their generous gift to Books for STL Kids 📚

This support helps us continue putting brand-new books into the hands of children across our community—fueling imagination, building home libraries, and creating brighter futures through literacy.

We’re also excited to celebrate their upcoming event—The Midwest’s Largest Charity Book Fair! The 2026 fair will take place April 30–May 3 at Queeny Park in Manchester, MO. It’s an incredible community event with something for everyone, and proceeds go right back into supporting organizations like ours.

Thank you for investing in St. Louis kids and helping stories reach the children who need them most 💛

Thanks to Book Fair volunteers Marilyn, Mary and Laura (not pictured) for spending their afternoon at the St. Louis County Library's Volunteer Fair. Dozens of wonderful organizations were represented and over 420 potential volunteers were in attendance.

We still need volunteers for the 2026 Book Fair setup, prior to Opening Day on April 30th, and we'll need plenty of volunteers during the Fair itself. Yesterday, we had the privilege of reuniting three family Bibles and several German immigration documents, dating back to the late 1800s, with their rightful family.

Randy Dudenbostel and his wife, Lisa, traveled 80 miles from Southern Illinois to our Maryland Heights warehouse to meet with Laura Faller Patton, one of our volunteers, who researched the family name and contacted Randy. What a special moment for this family!

After over 10 years of partnership, the Saint Louis Galleria has asked us to remove our Book House (donation collection box) or begin paying a monthly fee.

The Greater St. Louis Book Fair, a non-profit organization, is committed to keeping expenses low in order to maintain as much funding as possible for the grants that we distribute each year to local literacy and education programs. The Board of Directors discussed the options and decided that as a charitable organization, it is not fiscally responsible to pay fees to house our donation sites. A new location will be announced soon, likely after this year's Book Fair.

While we had hoped to keep the collection box at the Galleria open until the end of March, we were informed that it must be removed as soon as possible. As a result, THIS SITE IS NO LONGER ACCEPTING DONATIONS. The next closest Book House is in Clayton, in the upper parking lot at the northwest corner of Forsyth & Jackson. We apologize for any inconvenience. We hope to see you April 30th - May 3rd at Queeny Park. Thank you for your continued support!

Nine weeks from today is Opening Day of the 2026 Greater St. Louis Book Fair!

This year, we're hoping for another record-breaking event. The funds raised stay in the local community and support wonderful organizations that focus on literacy and education. Once such organization is Miriam School and Learning Center.

From their Grants Manager, "The Greater St. Louis Book Fair grant enabled Miriam School and Learning Center to purchase graphic novels for students with learning disabilities. By providing access to engaging books in a variety of formats, the grant helps Miriam students build strong reading habits, which will positively impact their academic success."

We hope to see you at Queeny Park, April 30th - May 4th. stlouisbookfair.org
