Young people today are growing up in a world where their voices travel farther and faster than ever before. With every story shared, solution tested, and community mobilized, they show us that climate action is not just a policy ambitionโit is a lived commitment shaped by courage, creativity, and collaboration.
By standing at the frontlines of advocacy, innovation, and local leadership, young Filipinos and Southeast Asian youth are proving that resilience begins with empowered communities and informed choices. Youth are no longer outliers; they are central to building resilient economies and delivering national climate commitments.
Declared through Proclamation No. 1160 (2015), the National Day for Youth in Climate Action recognizes the essential role of young Filipinos in confronting the climate crisis and shaping national resilience.
Likewise, the ASEAN Youth in Climate Action and Disaster Resilience Day, adopted by ASEAN Leaders with strong Philippine support, strengthens regional collaboration by providing a platform for youth to share experiences, develop action plans, and offer policy recommendations for a climate-resilient ASEAN.
