Thurles Area Community Games

Thurles Community Games had 5 athletes qualified for this year Community Games National finals in Carlow our largest representation for over 20 years. . Caoimhe Slevin took 8th place overall all in the Girls u16 1500m final in a tough race. Sean Cotter took part in u14 Boys 100m putting in a battling performance and will take a be under this age group again next year. In Girls u10 we had Annabelle Butler making it to the 100m final taking a fantastic 6th place & also Quin Corbett in the u10 60m Hurdles qualified for the finals and placing 6th overall. Noah Sweeney was unable to take part in the finals but had a fantastic year in qualifying from Tipperary. Well done to all our Athletes and coaches a like who put in a massive effort in getting the athletes prepared for the finals.

Well done to all Thurles Community Games Athletes on Sunday last in Clonmel. From an entry of 15 Thurles took home 3 Gold in Quin Corbett u10 Girls 60m Hurdles Annabel Butler u10 Girls 100m & Poppy Shanahan U12 Girls 100m with Emer Dorney taking Silver in u12 Girls 600m.
