IEEE UFRGS Student Branch O Ramo é considerado um setor dentro da organização do IEEE que não tem fins lucrativos, sendo subordinado a Seção Estudantil.

O Ramo Estudantil da IEEE na UFRGS (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul) tem como objetivo essencial trazer os benefícios do Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers para a universidade. O Ramo é composto por estudantes de graduação, bem como de pós-graduação, que formam uma diretoria, sob a orientação de professores da Universidade.
