Join us for Samhain 10/31/2026

26/09/2026

Children in Japan are now protected from being raised on fear of Hell.

In December 2022, the health ministry released guidelines stating that using threats of Hell, or fear in general, to push kids into religious practice can be considered psychological abuse under child protection law.

Faith itself isn't the target. Fear is.

The change came after Shinzo Abe's assassination turned public attention toward the Unification Church and what some families were putting their kids through.

A lot of people grew up afraid of something they couldn't see. Japan quietly decided that shouldn't be part of childhood.
