For the first time ever, we had people from 43 different countries donating to Lwiro during Giving Day for Apes! 🌍 From Asia to America, Europe, and Africa, we can hardly believe it. We are filled with gratitude for this worldwide coming together to support our rescued chimps.

A huge thank you to our incredible team behind the campaign for making this happen, and to each and every one of you who showed up for Lwiro ♥️ Swipe to see the countries, ranked from most to fewest donors! THANK YOU 🥹

We are still blown away by your love and trying to take it all in. 624 people stood by us when we asked for help, raising $57,887.

For weeks, we have been working extra hard, mobilizing our community and hoping that people would show up for us, and you all did.

No words can explain what this means. But we can tell you that, thanks to you, our amazing team can keep caring for our rescued chimps. We can secure nutritious food, provide veterinary care, and support our team in any way they need through this difficult time of war and Ebola outbreak.

Thank you to each and every one of you. Without you, we couldn’t do what we do every day. To those who donated, shared, and made sure your family and friends showed up for us, thank you. From our hearts.

To GFAS, the organizers of Giving Day for Apes, and all the sponsors and partners, Arcus Foundation Great Apes & Gibbons Program and Pan African Sanctuary Alliance thank you for standing with us.

And now, let’s get back to work, because our 130 chimps don’t know what a day off is 😉♥️

624 people showed up for Lwiro. ❤️
Together, you donated an incredible $48,387.
And because of you, we also won $9,500 in extra prizes, bringing the total raised through Giving Day to:
$57,887
624 people who decided to be there for Lwiro. You shared, you asked your friends to help, you stayed awake with us until the very end… and every single bit of it mattered.
We really don’t have enough words to thank you all.
This money means food, veterinary care, love and protection
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
624 times. ❤️

IMPORTANT: Giving Day for Apes is now over, so our Giving Day donation link is no longer active. We have added our regular donation link to our bio for anyone who would still like to support Lwiro. ❤️🐵

And that’s it. Giving Day for Apes 2026 is over.
It has been an emotional and incredible day. We asked you to show up for Lwiro and you did. Again ❤️
You donated. You shared. You sent messages. You asked your friends to help. You stayed with us until the very end.
And after everything Lwiro has been through this year, feeling so many of you standing beside us today has meant more than you can imagine.
Tonight, we are exhausted, emotional, happy and, above all, incredibly grateful.
Tomorrow we’ll share the final results.
Thank you for showing up for Lwiro.
Thank you for showing up for them. ❤️
Now… we sleep. 😴
Good night from all of us at Lwiro. ❤️

🚨 POWER HOUR STARTS NOW! 🚨
For the next ONE HOUR, we need as many people as possible to donate! It’s not about how much you give, it’s about how many of us show up.
$5 is enough. Every donor counts.
And even if you’ve already donated, a donation during this Power Hour counts for the prize
This is our final push. Let’s see how many people we can bring together for Lwiro in ONE HOUR! ❤️
And please SHARE! 🫶

130 reasons to show up. ❤️

Today is Giving Day for Apes. Help us keep showing up for all 130 of them. Link in bio 🫶🏽
